In the realm of information systems, the adverse effects of techno-stressors, arising from swift technological changes like the process of implementing a new ERP system, have been considered for their harmful impact on organizations, especially their employees. This area of effective coping mechanisms for managing techno-stress remains largely unexplored as well as the influence of task adaptation behavior on the job performance of employees remains ambiguous. Consequently, this study contributes to digital transformation fields by formulating a research model grounded in coping theory, incorporating cognitive appraisal and various task adaptation behaviors to investigate how employees navigate stress on their overall performance induced by the new ERP system adoption. This research applies the stress-coping theory to investigate this observation. A field survey of ERP users and employing a quantitative approach, the research team utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS to analyze the measurement and structural model based on data from 204 respondents. The results yield several interesting findings that when confronted with different techno-stress, employees are inclined to employ respective disturbance-handling and self-preservation strategies and adopt more exploitative task adaptation behaviors, ultimately bolstering their job performance. This study's findings benefit both theoretical research and practical applications related to coping strategies in the context of ERP implementation for different industries.en_US
