Factors affecting the university choice decision of high school and college students in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to indicate the influential factors on a student's intention to choose university within the confines of Ho Chi Minh city. The population of this research encompasses both high school students and university students. A plethora of research has delved into the factors influencing students university selection decisions. Our study aims to identify the key factors that significantly impact a student's choice of university, as well as those that hold minimal influence. The analysis of the collected data reveals three primary factors that exert a significant influence on students' decision making processes when selecting a university. Through the research, the factor “Reference from influential individuals” is the primary influence on university selection decisions.
