Enhancing the quality of political theory teaching and learning at UEH: Challenges and recommendations

Abstract

Political theory education at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) faces significant challenges that require comprehensive analysis and strategic intervention. This study examines the current landscape of political theory teaching and learning, identifying critical obstacles to effective pedagogical practices and student engagement. Through a quantitative method, the research explores systemic barriers including curriculum design, instructional methodologies, and resource limitations. The findings reveal persistent gaps between theoretical knowledge transmission and critical thinking development, highlighting the need for innovative pedagogical strategies. Key recommendations focus on curriculum redesign, faculty professional development, interactive learning techniques, and technology integration to enhance the quality of political theory education. By proposing a holistic framework for educational improvement, this research aims to transform political theory instruction at UEH, fostering more dynamic, engaging, and intellectually rigorous learning environments that prepare students for complex political analysis and civic participation.
