Keywords: | Extra-industry stakeholder ties; Network resource acquisition; Green innovation; RBV; Export manufacturing enterprises | Abstract: | Drawing upon RBV theory, this study explores how extra-industry stakeholder ties influence network resource acquisition and green innovation, while also examining the mediating role of network resource acquisition. A quantitative research approach was employed, using a structured survey administered to 198 export manufacturing enterprises. Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the proposed hypotheses. Our findings indicate that extra-industry stakeholder ties do not have a significant impact green innovation. However, extra-industry stakeholder ties were found to have a significant positive impact on network resource acquisition. The result also shows that the influence of network resource acquisition on green innovation. In addition, the results demonstrate the existence of the mediating role of network resource acquisition in the relationship between extra-industry stakeholder ties and green innovation. This study contributes to the green innovation literature by clarifying the influence of extra industry stakeholders on network resource acquisition in promoting green innovation. In addition, the study also provides valuable insights for leaders and managers of export manufacturing enterprises in developing external resources to implement green innovation towards sustainable development. Research purpose: This study aims to explore how extra-industry stakeholder ties impact network resource acquisition and green innovation and simultaneously tests the mediating mechanism of network resource acquisition. Research motivation: The study on the impact of extra-industry stakeholder ties on green innovation in emerging markets is limited. Previous studies have not clarified the impact mechanism of extra-industry stakeholder ties on network resource acquisition, as well as the role of network resource acquisition on green innovation. This study suggests that it is necessary to investigate the causal relationships of variables. Research design, approach, and method: A quantitative research approach was employed, using a structured survey administered to 198 export manufacturing enterprises. Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the hypotheses. Main findings: Our findings indicate that extra-industry stakeholder ties do not have a significant impact green innovation. Practical/managerial implications: This study contributes to the literature on green innovation, and elucidates the influence of extra industry stakeholders on network resource acquisition in promoting green innovation. In addition, the study also provides valuable insights for leaders and managers of export manufacturing enterprises in developing external resources to implement green innovation towards sustainable development. | Issue Date: | 2025 | Publisher: | University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City | URI: | https://digital.lib.ueh.edu.vn/handle/UEH/76542 |
