Abstract: | Grounded in the resource-based view and knowledge-based view, this study investigates the relationship between green innovation strategic orientation and green innovation performance. It specifically examines the role of green knowledge integration capability in enhancing enterprise-level green innovation. Survey data were collected from 279 respondents, all of whom are managers or above. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test both the measurement and structural models. The results reveal that green knowledge integration capability serves as a mediating factor between strategic orientation and green innovation outcomes. Green strategic orientation directly impacts green innovation performance. This study offers empirical evidence on the management and application of green knowledge to advance corporate green innovation, delivering actionable insights for both scholars and practitioners. In doing so, the findings also enrich the existing body of knowledge on green strategy and deepen the understanding of how enterprises can effectively implement green innovation. Research purpose: To offer practical insights for researchers and managers in making strategic decisions on leveraging green innovation orientation to achieve impactful outcomes, by strengthening internal knowledge resources and integrating them with tailored external expertise Research motivation: The study aims to offer practical implications for management-level decision makers in businesses seeking to adopt sustainable practices, with an emphasis on the role of internal capabilities such as green knowledge integration. By doing so, it helps address environmental pollution concerns and enhances firm competitiveness. Research design, approach, and method: This research used PLS-SEM to test the hypotheses. Main findings: Our findings reveal that green innovation strategic orientation was significantly and positively related to firm green innovation performance. Furthermore, green knowledge integration capability is the mediators in the relationship between green innovation strategic orientation and green innovation. Practical/managerial implications: This research provides actionable insights into how aligning strategic orientation with knowledge capabilities can lead to better innovation outcomes. |
