dc.description.abstract | Design/methodology/approach: This report summarizes earlier research on sustainable travel intentions and the advancement of Sustainable Development Goal 13 of the UN. The study also emphasizes the need for additional research to develop and evaluate successful intervention techniques that promote environmentally friendly behavior in the travel and tourism sector. Purpose: This study aims to demonstrate how the travel and tourism sector may help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 by promoting eco-friendly traveler behavior and reducing adverse climate effects. The study also shows that small and medium-sized tourism enterprises can successfully adopt many of the practical approaches that are already accessible because they are inexpensive and simple to use. Findings: In order to compare the effects of culture, environmental policies, and the degree of sustainable tourism development, future research should concentrate on four main areas: (1) using longitudinal data to track changes in tourists' attitudes and intentions toward sustainable tourism over time; (2) extending research to other regions; (3) integrating media factors and incentive policies to elucidate the motivations driving sustainable tourism behavior; and (4) utilizing advanced technology to increase the efficacy of promoting sustainable tourism. Originality/value: In addition to synthesizing the literature, this analysis suggests significant future research directions. In addition to providing clarification on the role of Sustainable Development Goal 13 in advancing this goal in 2030, this assessment of earlier research has formulated and empirically validated sustainable tourism aspirations | en_US |
