Abstract: | The increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into various aspects has raised concerns about its potential impact on the workforce. This study, drawing from the latent state-trait theory, investigates the relationship between learners' awareness of AI and their future job competency and career anxiety. A sample of 322 learners was taken and randomly assigned to complete surveys measuring multiple variables including attitude and awareness toward AI with career anxiety and job competency. Identified by using Bayesian averaging analysis method, the findings suggest that AI awareness impact significantly influences both learners' career anxiety and competency. Higher AI awareness can increase job anxiety due to concerns about job security and skill obsolescence. However, a positive perception of AI's impact can reduce these negative effects and enhance job competency. Additionally, individual differences in personality traits may moderate the relationship between AI awareness and job competency, career anxiety. These results highlight the importance of preparing learners for the AI-driven future by fostering positive AI awareness and providing them with the necessary skills to navigate the changing workforce |
