dc.description.abstract | Procrastination, a negative behavior, is defined as the failure to initiate or complete a task within a set time frame. This behavior is common among students, adults, and children of all ages.Academic procrastination can have detrimental effects on students, including increased stress, feelings of guilt, diminished academic achievement, and lowered self-worth. Early identification and intervention strategies are essential to mitigate these consequences and ensure successful future academic and professional endeavors. Academic procrastination refers to intentionally delaying work that needs to be done. Numerous studies have been carried out over the years to comprehend why students procrastinate and how to combat this detrimental habit. Academic procrastination varies depending on the task, with individuals displaying procrastination across different behaviors and situations. Therefore, to understand the factors that influence students' procrastination in their academic studies, we conducted a study entitled "A survey on factors affecting procrastination in students". This study was developed based on the theoretical framework provided by the team, which identified key factors such as time management, internet addiction, motivation, self-efficacy, and stress. Subsequently, we will recommend strategies to address these issues and provide support to students in overcoming procrastination. The data collected consisted of 187 students ranging from first-year to fourth-year students in Ho Chi Minh City. | en_US |
