Abstract: | Construction machinery plays an important role in the construction and other industrial sectors by providing heavy-duty, versatile, and high-power equipment capable of performing a wide range of complex tasks. However, the high fuel consumption and substantial pollutant emissions associated with these machines pose serious challenges, particularly in the context of escalating climate change and global warming concerns. Therefore, the integration of modern technologies into construction machinery is increasingly urgent. In this study, potential technologies employed to reduce energy consumption in hybrid hydraulic construction equipment are comprehensively evaluated in terms of technical aspects and practical applications. To this end, first, the technical characteristics of hybrid construction machines are analyzed to shed light on their advantages and potential contributions to sustainable industrial development. Next, hybrid drive and energy recovery technologies are meticulously examined and systematically categorized based on their technological characteristics. Finally, this review discusses challenges, commercial prospects, and future development directions of these technologies within the context of hybrid hydraulic construction machinery. |
